The drop cloth drapes I whipped up just this morning, give the space a sense of enclosure, which I really like.Īll of the furniture on the porch is thrifted. I like to decorate the porch as if it is an interior room. My palette of white, black, grey, gold and lots of warm hued texture - like burlap, wicker, sisal and grain sack - is present on the front porch creating a flow into the interior. I suggest you create your exterior spaces with your interior in mind. My Farmhouse Glam style starts on the porch and continues inside. Now that the hornets have moved on, let's talk porch decor.and share that toast. The glass of Rose' we talked of sharing is even more well deserved after this day! Cleaning out of the shop vac - then, resuming the fluffing. Trip to the hardware store, ladder, spray, wait, wack a few, wait, removal of the nest with the shop vac. The hornets obviously had the same goal as me - but I was gonna achieve! Pillows were practically flying to swat them away!! As I was fluffing I noticed a hornets nest way up high. let's just say I am still pursing my goal. So I am all set this morning to fluff up my porch, take some photos, finish my post and then #PORCHGOALS - sit and relax on the wicker settee' with a pile of magazines for the remainder of the day. The irony of what I am about to tell you won't be lost on you. We'll toast to making the time to just be. Come sit, let your 'do to list' slip from your mind, your shoulders relax & raise a glass. Join me on the front porch for a crisp glass of Rose'. If you are heading over from Maison de Cinq welcome! Thank you to Lory of Designthusiasm for once again putting together a stellar tour line up. So for this season of the Styled & Set tour, I am sharing my front porch ~ decked out to attract even the busiest of 'bees'. We all deserve a little R & R and it seems especially right to carve out that sort of time in the summer. I have been thinking that I am most certainly not alone in my quest to enjoy my home, rather than only caring for it and those inside it! That doesn't happen enough, but when it does I am truly in my kind of heaven. I actually set goals to get out there with a book or magazine for some relaxation. The front porch of our 1886 house is large, has Victorian charm and beckons to me daily. I have never really had a porch before, except a tiny one with room for one chair, me & a magazine. Like the moths that circle about the lantern light at night, I gravitate to my front porch.
